Effective as of January 14, 2021, at 12:01 am for at least 28 days, the government has issued and implemented a second province-wide state of emergency. Accompanied with the new restrictions, a stay-at-home order has been put in place, requiring everyone to remain at home with exceptions for essential purposes such as going to the grocery store or pharmacy, accessing health care services, for exercise or essential work. In addition to limiting outings or essential trips, all businesses must ensure that any employee who can work from home does work from home.

Real Estate remains an essential service while we continue to follow all public health directives and protocols.

So, what does that look like?

  • Open houses are to remain prohibited during the lockdown
  • In-person showings are permitted by appointment only and limited to those that are urgent & proper PPE (personal protective equipment) is mandatory

Take advantage of virtual tools:

  • zoom meetings with your agent
  • virtual tours
  • digital signing of documents

Real estate offices may remain open but must continue to follow the government’s screening requirements for workplaces. Anyone who has the ability to work remotely will do so.

We must practice the following items to ensure safe real estate transacting remains in place:

  • Practice physical distancing
  • Use proper PPE (personal protective equipment)
  • Clean & disinfect a home before and after a showing
  • Space out showings
  • Limit the number at each showing; keep showings to 1 family group in the property at a time.

Let’s all do our part to help stop the spread of COVID-19. We have had the pleasure of servicing a number of our clients during this pandemic. Resulting in successful but most of all safe transactions throughout. Severe precautions are in place, and while we keep those at the forefront, we are still here to offer our guidance and expertise.
